In October 2013 TF Shipping Ltd arranged to send 1 x 40ft high cube container of goods that had been donated by the local community in the North East of England to Kenya free of charge.
After having some initial involvement with SAFC Keroche based in Naivasha in the Rift Valley whereby we had arranged to sponsor the Academy of the club, an appeal was put out by the UK president of Keroche for goods to be donated from the UK. TF Shipping Ltd agreed that they would fund the container movement from a Peterlee warehouse and take this through to SAFC Keroche’s location in Naivasha paying 100% of the cost. The local community in the North East of England was very generous and having originally offering to send a 20ft container due to the volume of goods we agreed to up this to a 40ft high cube container full of cargo.
The container arrived on the morning of the 29th December 2013 and the generous donations were then distributed throughout the club and also to the local orphanage and village school.
Mr Tim Finley of TF Shipping Ltd said: “It is great to be able to give something back to the people of Kenya. Over the seven years our company has been working we have had extensive dealings with the Kenyan people both in Kenya and also in the UK and when this project was brought to our attention it was the perfect fit for us. The people of the North East of England have been so generous in their donations that we are privileged to be able to complete the delivery of these goods at our cost”.
